Assignment 1: Browserhawk scans; introduce yourself in Desire2Learn discussion forum; directory on Unix with Web page; questions on reading
3 Feb. 8 Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Part I — syntax; Validating CSS; Using WDT CSS menu (WDT 2 link goes to non-SJSU web site).
Optional Elluminate Session: Cascading Style Sheets, Part I lecture. (Feb. 8th, 7:00-8:45 p.m. PT)
Assignment 2: Validated XHTML Web pages

CSS Part II - float and clear properties; the power of <div>; CSS id and class selectors
Assignment 3: CSS (inline, embedded, external); start of mini web site that you will add to all semester. [This is not the final project, which you must complete in a different topic with all new material.]

8 Mar. 15 Web 2.0 / Library 2.0, Part II; Integrating blogs, wikis, social bookmarking and tagging ( link goes to non-SJSU web site); Blog themes and plugins; class collaboration (Zoho or Google Docs); [Virtual worlds (using Second Life) assigned but not due until May 10th.] Assignment 7: CSS layout (mini-web site re-do); CSS Garden; print and handheld style sheets.
