e-Portfolio Software — MARA 289

Students may build and submit their e-Portfolio publications as part of MARA 289.

Platform Options
Students may build their e-Portfolio using a platform of their choice. Common options include:

  • Google Sites
  • Wix
  • WordPress
  • Weebly
  • Other web-based portfolio tools

Important: Canvas no longer supports the ePortfolio (legacy) platform, as it will be discontinued on June 30, 2026. Visit Canvas Community page on how to download your Canvas ePortfolio (Guide)

Support Policy
The iSchool provides limited technical support for e-Portfolios. We can assist with:

  • General portfolio structure and expectations
  • Accessibility and content organization
  • Best practices for presenting your work

We do not provide full technical support for external platforms (e.g., Wix, WordPress, Google Sites). Students are responsible for learning and managing their chosen platform.

Access & Longevity
Choose a platform that allows you to maintain access to your work after graduation. This is strongly recommended, as your e-Portfolio is intended to support your professional development and job search.

  • SJSU Google Sites and Drive access expires after graduation (typically within one year)
  • Plan ahead to migrate or back up your content

Privacy & Sharing
You are responsible for managing access to your e-Portfolio:

  • If your portfolio is public, ensure no sensitive or restricted content is included
  • If you prefer restricted access, use password protection or sharing settings

Your e-Portfolio advisor must be able to access your work for evaluation.

Best Practice
Download and store copies of your coursework, then upload or embed them into your portfolio platform. Do not rely on direct links to Canvas, as access may be restricted.
