Overview: Today's students can generate written answers with tools like ChatGPT in seconds so traditional discussion boards are getting easier to game. This session focuses on how VoiceThread can shift online discussions back toward real engagement and real thinking. When students respond with their voice or video, you can actually hear how they think, not just read something that may or may not be their own work. VoiceThread makes participation more authentic and much harder to outsource.

Session Title: Designing Courses with Agentic AI

Overview: This session explores practical approaches to course mapping and AI-supported course development workflows. Laura Otero will briefly demonstrate strategies for aligning learning outcomes, assessments, and learning activities before sharing how she uses Claude Cowork, an agentic AI tool, to support instructional design, brainstorming, and online content development. The session will include a live demonstration and discussion of opportunities, limitations, and practical considerations for integrating AI into course design processes.
