Course Description
The Internship is a field-based learning experience that takes place in a library, archives, records center, or other information-based organization. It allows the student to obtain work experience while pursuing stated learning outcomes. It is designed to provide the student the opportunity to test theories and to practice skills learned in the student's program.
These sections are for virtual internship positions only. They can be taken for 2, 3, or 4 units of credit, for which the student will work a minimum of 45 hours per unit of credit.
See the LIBR 294 Internship pages for detailed requirements, responsibilities, and forms. See the Virtual Internship pages for more information about virtual placements.
Course Requirements

Five optional web conferences will be scheduled throughout the semester. The schedule will be set at the start of the term to accommodate students and faculty. All sessions will be recorded. Students may substitute attendance at any web conference(s) for the discussions taking place in Canvas the same week.

An original learning outcome must be developed that will help the student fulfill a given competency through meeting the learning outcome during the internship.
