Learning Outcomes — INFO 294

After successfully applying to an internship site, the student must create a set of Learning Outcomes, which are statements that describe what the students will have learned and are able to do by the end of the semester as a result of engaging in the internship. These statements should focus on the acquisition of observable and measurable knowledge, skills and abilities.

IMPORTANT:  Learning outcomes should not be broad and overarching but address the specific day-to-day job duties.

The learning outcomes and internship responsibilities should be agreed on in consultation with the internship site supervisor, and a statement of those outcomes submitted to the appropriate internship faculty supervisor (via the Professional Experience: Internship - Student Application form) for approval before the internship begins.
